However, we need to make the actual title of the film bolder and bigger.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6697914816853939662.post-6626569451258476312010-03-11T04:01:00.001-08:002010-03-12T01:25:41.780-08:00Rough Cut FilmThis is the rough cut on of our final film.<div>We think our film is good but it would look a lot better with music so we added a soundtrack which we made on Garage Band, we are not sure if it fits with the video exactly but we are hoping it looks good. </div><div><br /></div><div>We chose to put our film in black and white because we think it will be more effective then having it in colour as it was a sunny day when we were filming and it did not fit with the atmosphere were trying to set in our film.</div><div><br /></div><div>We think that our film could benefit with a few changes, so we are waiting for the class feedback so that we can make it as good as we possibly can. </div><div><br /></div><div>We are happy with our editing as we have added lots of effects. The main editing that we did was to modify the speed of our clips. For some we have sped them up and some we have slowed them down. This is to add more atmosphere and excitement to our film. </div><div><br /></div><div>Overall we are happy with the outcome of our first draft.</div><br /><br />http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LEA6dmUpWFcUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6697914816853939662.post-77313735828936240922010-03-04T03:29:00.000-08:002010-03-04T03:42:15.128-08:00Plan for last filming lessonOur plan is that Kate will come to school at nine o'clock and pick up the camera and tripod, as she lives the closest. We will then all meet at the grand arcade lifts at 9:20. This will give us an hour and ten minutes of filming, which will be enough time to capture what we need to.<br /><br />For our last filming lesson we need to do retakes of some filming we did in the first filming lesson to make it better. We have been practicing this so we know exactly what we need to do.<br /><br />We also need to film a fight seen between Kate and Scarlett, which has been practiced to save us time. Kate is going to be acting as a second attacker by changing a few pieces of clothing, such as a different hoody and a change of shoes. If possible for one of them she will be wearing a balaclava for one of the attackers.<br /><br />All the scenes that we are re filming have been practiced so that we don't have to spend all of the time whilst supposed to be filming figuring out what we are going to be doing.<br /><br />We will need the same props as last time which is the rope, which is Scarlett is bringing and a balaclava that Kate will be bringing. Maria and Scarlett will be wearing as similar to the clothes as last time as possible.<br /><br />We are filming in the same place which is grand arcade car park, mostly on level 6. We are hoping that it will be just as empty as last time and as it is the same day of the week and the same time we think it probably will be. If not we will just be more careful when filming to leave extra cars out.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6697914816853939662.post-4202510272410452782010-03-02T06:09:00.000-08:002010-03-04T03:03:43.254-08:00Practice shotsWe did some practice shots of some scenes in the film we need to re-take to make them look more realistic and so we have a plan and know what we have to do, which will save us time when we actually come to film as it will mean less shots.<br /><br />We have chosen to show all the practicing, not just the shots that went right as it shows are development and progress.<br /><br />The first shots are of Maria doing a fall. She found it hard at first as she felt awkward and embarrassed and found it quiet hard to let loose. However she managed to over come that after a couple of takes and by the end managed to create a fall that look genuine.<br /><br />The next shot is of Kate kicking Maria. Kate had to fake a more powerful kick into Maria to show her real anger and Maria had to flinch to it looked really realistic and as if Kate had actually kicked her. This after a few takes looked really good and effective.<br /><br />Kate and Scarlett's fight scene is showing the struggle of Scarlett trying to get away. Scarlett tried to make it an actual real struggle for Kate to restrain her to make it look more realistic. What we learn't we need to improve on is not laughing or smiling.<br /><br /><br /><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dwuXFJMdJJrfWSnCKl-m-zcJYUq1ZXQsoo1tCJ-s3r_bBZfh-WKW3JZsOKv9L9NpCrP7vANX672dL_XmV7sGQ' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6697914816853939662.post-31290085120041810972010-03-02T05:13:00.000-08:002010-03-02T05:44:59.748-08:00First day of filmingOn our first day of filming we were really optimistic and eager to get started as we had done so much planning and had loads of ideas. Also the weather was as we wanted in our film to create the perfect atmosphere.<br /><br />One set back we had was that we could only have the camera for one lesson (1hr 30mins) so we did not get a chance to film as much as we had wanted to. Also Jed could not come so early so we had to film without him. However we have decided that we are not going to use Jed in our film, but instead we are going to improvise by using just Kate who will be both the kidnappers. She is going to bring a change of clothes and is going to wear a balaclava to hide her identity to show a distinct difference between the two characters. This would make it easier to film as Kate is in the group and has an idea of what we want the film to look like.<br /><br />We didn't manage to film the whole film like we would have hoped to have, so we plan to film the rest on Friday. We think we will have more than enough time.<br /><br />Watching our footage back we have discovered things that we need to add in and some bits we need to film again for example, when Maria gets tied up we need to make it look like she is desperately struggling , as this will be more effective and make the audience feel sorry for her.<br /><br />We also noticed small things like our bags in the shot, and give aways of our location. When we next film we are going to be more aware of these things and look to avoid them as it makes our film look less professional and a bit messy.<br /><br />We already have 1min 8seconds worth of footage as we did not want to film too little and also we re-shot quiet a lot of scenes so we would have a choice of them in case something went wrong and we would have a range of shots to choose from.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6697914816853939662.post-85492168366839736672010-02-25T03:34:00.001-08:002010-02-25T03:40:53.522-08:00Music Practise<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDqUa_4Ty-l-rEiZrjajehZxdPWFkR2XIkqGloesVBrX2v_lu9dJvVfQwOzC4aDxo17sU3nGmzKVwvSjeI-vjYaptv7hrL87Z1RmH-4lKE8HCN_dwHe96NPDYdcspEDPWLEt8sV_QkBEg/s1600-h/Picture+1.png"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 252px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDqUa_4Ty-l-rEiZrjajehZxdPWFkR2XIkqGloesVBrX2v_lu9dJvVfQwOzC4aDxo17sU3nGmzKVwvSjeI-vjYaptv7hrL87Z1RmH-4lKE8HCN_dwHe96NPDYdcspEDPWLEt8sV_QkBEg/s400/Picture+1.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5442143151446462578" /></a><br /><br /><br />This is a practise for the opening to our scene. We have tried to make it go with what we think our film will be like. <br />We used special effects that will create a mood within our finished film, we hope to create a tense mood and eery atmosphere to make our film into an action thriller. <br />The upbeat part of our music shows the element of action and will hopefully help to create suspense for the audience. <br />It starts slowly as at the start of our film we will have a pan of the car park flashing backwards and forwards to the victims who will be tied up. <br />We tried to make the music as dramatic as possible as we are not using dialogue as we think it would be more effective without it.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6697914816853939662.post-80789217193235200782010-02-23T05:17:00.000-08:002010-02-23T05:48:25.654-08:00Call sheet for planned filmingWhen we are going to film: Friday 26th Feb <div> 9.00 till 2.40</div><div>Scarlett, Kate and Maria are going to take the camera into town on the bus and then Scarlett will bring it back and return it at 2.40</div><div><br /></div><div>We are going to film at the Grand Arcade car park (level 6) as it is the top level so therefore are not many cars there. It also adds tension as it is high up and makes it scary. We are getting to the location by bus as it leads to the centre of town where Grand Arcade is. It is a public location but there are not many people there thats why we chose to film as we will not get any interruptions however we still need to take health & safety into consideration, for example keeping away from the edges and not carrying fake weapons.</div><div><br /></div><div>Lighting: As we are filming during the day we will not need to take lights with us. Ideally we would like the weather to be cloudy but not raining so it gives an eerie atmosphere which we would like to create. If not when editing we will change the lighting on final cut to give us the same effect.</div><div><br /></div><div>Actors: Our whole group (Kate, Scarlett and Maria) and then we are using Jed as an extra character. </div><div>Scarlett- Victim 1 (Jessica)</div><div>Maria- Victim 2 (Emma)</div><div>Kate- Kidnapper 1 (Pavlo)</div><div>Jed- Kidnapper 2 (Limbado)</div><div><br /></div><div>We will not have sound that it is spoken in our opening, Scarlett is going to scream at one point but there will not be a script for our piece. We think it will be more effective like this.</div><div><br /></div><div>Film Crew: The people that are not needed in the scene being filmed will be behind the camera. This means everyone will get an equal opportunity to film. </div><div><br /></div><div>Props: Rope, Masking tape (coloured in black) and a balaclava. </div><div>Scarlet will bring the masking tape. Kate will bring the balaclava and Maria will bring the rope.</div><div><br /></div><div>If the weather disrupts our filming we will use level 5, although it may not be as effective as using the outside area it will still give the same eery effect, as we are still in a car park that is quite secluded. </div><div><br /></div><div>We are capture as much as we can in this filming slot so that we can get started with the editing and see if there is more filming that needs to be done. We will not be using lots of diegetic sound, therefor we will not need to worry about the sound during our filming session. </div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6697914816853939662.post-36100854311347988572010-02-11T03:01:00.000-08:002010-02-23T06:13:45.353-08:00Analysis of an antagonist and a protagonist<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWGHiE6IO-kR355qgtZzy-O2mwmfJUvrSroGHiJMsLZQ2DdvQRE5w_M2B9emWM14s8ZDL4IN6Xzuv2XxaDv64nFPv1xP4gZ1TAfUCxP0hjl054wof1nDnt-kZrk7ELsf5u1E0Jt__tpn0/s1600-h/spiderman.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 146px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWGHiE6IO-kR355qgtZzy-O2mwmfJUvrSroGHiJMsLZQ2DdvQRE5w_M2B9emWM14s8ZDL4IN6Xzuv2XxaDv64nFPv1xP4gZ1TAfUCxP0hjl054wof1nDnt-kZrk7ELsf5u1E0Jt__tpn0/s200/spiderman.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5436941122297043122" border="0" /></a><span style="font-weight: bold;">Protagonist</span><br />The antagonist i have chosen to analyze is 'Spider Man'.<br />He is well known as comic character but after the spider man trilogy he has become a well known hollywood hero.<br /><br />What makes him an protagonist is that he uses his 'super powers' to save society. This is one of his famous traits and is what makes him recognizable to an audience. His 'web-shooters' ability to jump and climb up and around buildings make him 'in-human' and is the reason why he can save people.<br /><br />However this is his alter ego as he only wears a costume. The read and blue costume has also been the same and is usually only associated with spiderman. The costume gives him the powers as in his everyday life he is a normal average person known as 'Peter Parker' who is presented as being quite shy and unsociable. This gives the audience a privilege as they known his other identity, it is almost like they are in on the secret, also as he is an everyday person he is relatable and understood by the audience.<br /><br />What also makes him relatable is that he has a love interest, (Mary Jane Watson). The audience can relate to his feelings and it pushes are want for him to succeed in saving people but with his relationship as well. It also adds a feeling of suspense as for a while she does not know his alter ego 'Spider Man' and the audience are waiting for her to find out and are curious to know when and if she does.<br /><br />'Spider Man' can also sometimes be quite comical, which gives him the likability aspect and is one of the man reasons he is so popular. It also takes an edge away from the violence.<br /><br />This is an old clip of the original 'Spider Man' cartoon.<br /><br /><object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/dc7qFjuFlrc&hl=en_US&fs=1&"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/dc7qFjuFlrc&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object><br /><br />This is a comparison to the new 'Spiderman 3' which is more dark and sinister, it doesnt have<br />as much of a light hearted edge. The in the trailer the music is dramatic which darkens the mood and makes it almost scary.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight:bold;">Antagonist</span><div><span></span><b><span class="Apple-style-span" style=" font-weight: normal; white-space: pre; font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10px;"><object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/u5rDVIUC9z4&hl=en_US&fs=1&"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/u5rDVIUC9z4&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object></span><br /></b><div><span></span><b><br /></b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:85%;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style=" white-space: pre;font-size:10px;"><br /></span></span><br /></div><div>The protagonist i have chosen to analyze is 'The Joker' from who is the arch enemy of the well known protagonist 'Batman'<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJ96I6wz2dC-zD9JiQD34bEnHPfwln2YRHQXuLQmyarzlrvDSV9is0iQo8KSIFrfysnU1wpWNozU_T-5nm_56QU8-bG6ALxWQ-5qnwhy2tSrb6oZl_zcUEyEMW-4WkLR4QB5KhhkSEaXk/s1600-h/images.jpeg"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 95px; height: 135px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJ96I6wz2dC-zD9JiQD34bEnHPfwln2YRHQXuLQmyarzlrvDSV9is0iQo8KSIFrfysnU1wpWNozU_T-5nm_56QU8-bG6ALxWQ-5qnwhy2tSrb6oZl_zcUEyEMW-4WkLR4QB5KhhkSEaXk/s400/images.jpeg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5436955421710291170" /></a><br />The joker is portrayed as an ultra evil master criminal, who is a violent psychopath who uses clever tricks and jokes to trap and try and catch out 'Batman'<br /><br />He has white skin, green hair and big red lips. He almost resembles a clown. Which is a lot like his character with a twist as he has a sadistic sense of humour. His costume, mainly his mouth makes him look scary and the audience can relate to 'Batman' the antagonist as they almost want 'Batman' to over power him. The fear of clowns is also a quite common fear among regular people, this adds to the scar factor<br /><br />Also in the new films his costume is specially made for him and he wears a bright purple coat with a flower on it, which fits the look of a clown however it is unusual for the villain to wear bright colours as they are usually associated with dark colours to fit there evil persona.</div><div><br /></div><div>The joker torments the other villains so that he can get what he wants, he uses black mail. His character is quite unrealistic by wanting to kill the batman, however has realistic qualities as he gives them his card. He threatens the other villain holding a knife to him while at the same time telling a scary story from his childhood. This makes him seem more threatening as it explains how hard it was for him growing up and gives the reasons for why he is so mentally unstable. The way that he explains his scars is said in such a way that the audience is not sure what he is going to do, as his tone of voice is very sadistic. The Joker also has the ability to go from killing someone to laughing and acting as if nothing happened. </div></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6697914816853939662.post-12149066844346638152010-02-09T06:23:00.000-08:002010-02-23T05:17:24.972-08:00Test Footage<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dyhAs13g718VXHJQLTRFBHiFGMl4z3tJMvBr9s8eqMslQ7IwfdNDqaGacoIUJ76X_j9QC4K56QVn8dAu8kXlg' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe><br /><br />This is a video of all the shots we are going to use in our opening.<br />We have used (In order)<br />-A panning shot<br />-Close-up<br />-Long shot<br />-Mid shot<br />-Extreme close-up<br />-Zoom<br /><br />We didnt use a tracking shot as we could not get access to a dolly, but hopefully for our actual shoot we will get to use one.<br /><br />The shots looked how we hoped they would look. We filmed in the college car park so it was like our real location. It gave us a real feel to what our actual film is going to look like. It also gave us an insight into what we need to be careful of when actually filming, for example sun exposure which distorts the view through the camera and also keeping the camera steady, for example when panning or zooming.<br /><br />We also had a go at editing our footage and we cut out things that were not necessary in our shot and we also added a fade in between the shots to make it look less jumpy and smooth like a professional filmUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6697914816853939662.post-49885276039871814512010-02-09T05:23:00.000-08:002010-02-09T05:29:00.244-08:00Top Tips for Filming-Have a clear idea of what filming and what we want to achieve<div>- Continuity</div><div>- Have back up plan</div><div>- Keep the camera steady - tripod</div><div>- Always capture extra footage</div><div>- Capture variety of shots</div><div>- Beware of your surroundings</div><div>- Get consent of public</div><div>- Make sure the tape is in correct place</div><div>- Don't do anything that a passer by may be offended by</div><div>- Don't film in a dangerous place</div><div>- No swearing</div><div>- No weapons in a public place</div><div>- Be respectful to the public</div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6697914816853939662.post-88849217365495865052010-02-05T02:02:00.000-08:002010-02-12T01:48:20.496-08:00FINAL IDEASFirst there will be a 10 second pan of the top of the car park, this will be the establishing shot so it will be a long shot showing the whole location.
<br />
<br />Next will be a flash of Scarlett the (victim) running across the car park. This will just be a quick flash and will last only 2 seconds it will be a tracking shot.
<br />
<br />Then there will be a cut back to the kidnapper (Jed) who will be wearing a balaclava who jumps up and the camera will freeze and his name will come up. This is be a semi-mid shot.
<br />
<br />Next we will show a clip of Maria tied up and the attacker (Kate) will be putting masking tape, that looks like duct tape over her mouth. This will last for 4 seconds and it will freeze and our names will come up. We will use a medium shot and then a close up of Maria's mouth.
<br />
<br />Mid shot of Scarlett looking back at Jed who is now catching up with her. At this point Scarlett will be frozen and her name will come up. It will then go back to the action and Jed grabs her arm. This will be a close up of Jed's hand on her arm.
<br />A flash of Maria's hands which are tied up will be an extreme close-up and will last only 2 seconds.
<br />
<br />It will then cut back to an empty car park with a scream over it. Then there will be a mid shot of Scarlett who is struggling against Jed, she punches him in the face and then there will be a long shot, to show Scarlett scrambling away.
<br />
<br />There will be a flash of Maria and Scarlett both tied up, then a quick flash back to the fight between Scarlett and Jed, then cut back to an extreme close-up of Maria and Scarlett's eyes, which we will put on a split screen </div><div>
<br />
<br />Then back to a long shot of Scarlett running and then being caught by Jed.
<br />
<br />Then end shot will be of Maria and Scarlett with duct tape over their mouths tied up, this will be a close-up to show their facial expressions.
<br />
<br />All the way through fast paced music will be playing which we will create on Garage Band. It will start off eerie to create a tense atmosphere then it will pick up when all the action happens, until the freezes happen then the music will stop and there will wind sound to make the mood mysterious.

This shows time passing and makes us think that the program is about death. The use of contrapuntal sound is effective, as the music is quite upbeat it gives the impression that the program is not all about death which is typical of a TV drama, as there is usually more than one story line. </span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:arial, serif;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:arial, serif;">The images in the opening credits show parts of dead bodies, such as the foot, but also shows people washing their hands, which could imply that the program is about murder. </span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:arial, serif;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:arial, serif;">The font is quite plain and simple, this contrasts to the images behind it, making the audience focus on the photos behind it and not on the font.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:arial, serif;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:arial, serif;"><b>Panic Room</b></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:arial, serif;"><b><br /></b></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:arial, serif;">The credits in 'Panic Room' are unusual as they do not really relate to the film, or give an insight into what it is about. The castle is recognizable as it it a real place known by children and adults. The castle looks magical which refelcts the genre of most Disney films which is fantasy.<br /> It only uses two colours blue and white. This is effective as it makes the writing stand out, and is simple and easily recognizable. The colour blue also generally symbolizes peacefulness which is a message they want to give to the children. Light blue is also known as a mixed gender colour, so it appeals to a wider target audience of children.<br /><br />The music uses different chimes which again gives the feel of fantasy and magic. It slowly builds up and becomes louder with the more instruments added, creating excitement for the viewer. This is important as it engaging the viewer and sets the mood for the rest of the film.<br /><br />From all age groups the Disney ident is recognized and from all these things as they have always been the same since Disney began, which was a long time ago. "The cinema can leave the spectator with a subconscious assurance of absolute safety and yet, surprise his imagination into playing tricks on him" </span><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:arial;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:arial;">The audience can also relate to the character and put themselves into that particular role, so they can enjoy something that is not an everyday experience. Because of the diversity of the thrillers the audience never really sees two films which are identically alike. "In order to appreciate what the characters on the stage are going through, we have to project ourselves into their consciousness... Watching a well-made film, we don't sit by as spectators; we participate."</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:arial, serif;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:arial, serif;">The typical characters in a thriller, always capture the audience's inner hero. And at some point come close to peril. Which adds the thrill element and the audience can put themselves in the position and experience it artificially in a safe, secure environment.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:arial, serif;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:arial, serif;"><br /></span></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6697914816853939662.post-14458433683963331292010-01-29T01:56:00.000-08:002010-02-04T03:22:47.326-08:00Mise-en-sceneThe mise-en-scene in our opening is very specific to our thriller genre.<div><br /><div>Location</div><div>The choice of car park is to sure it is set in a urban environment, the city which adds to the whole thrill as it is almost like a secret world, which is a scary thought for the audience to imagine things like this do take place.</div><div>It is also a public place however it is very secluded, but it adds tension to the story line as a member of the public could intervene at any point.</div><div><br /></div><div>Lighting</div><div>We have chosen to film outside and set it in dim afternoon light, to give at a mysterious, more eerie atmosphere to our scene.</div><div><br /></div><div>Props</div><div>We are not going to use many props, only rope, masking tape, and balaclavas. The criminals are going to be wearing dark colours, such as black tracksuit bottoms and a balaclava. The victims will be wearing typical teenage clothes.<br /><br />We are going to keep our film a thriller as we will not actually show the violence but the kidnapping is what our film will revolve around. <br /><br />We also got asked about our shot types and we said we would mainly be using long shots to show the chase, close-ups to show the character reactions and shot-reverse-shot to show both the chase and the kidnap. <br />And we were asked if we would all be in the shot at the same time but we explained that we would be taking it in turns to film by shooting the two scenes at different times, but embedding them in the editing.<br /><br />The feedback generally was that it was going to be visually interesting and artistic. <br /><br />We were also told that we had to ask permission to film on the car park, but it is owned by the council so it should be fine, but however if it is not we will have to find another location to film.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6697914816853939662.post-82393534053114413852010-01-26T06:02:00.000-08:002010-02-04T04:06:38.501-08:00Sub-Genres: Political Thriller- Munich"Munich is a 2005 historical fiction film about the Israeli government's secret retaliation attacks after the 1972 Munich massacre of Israeli Olympic athletes by Black September militant group. The film stars Eric Bana and was co-produced and directed by Steven Spielberg. It was written by Tony Kushner and Eric Roth.<br /><br />The film shows how a squad of assassins, led by former Mossad agent Avner (Eric Bana), track down and murder a list of Black September members thought to be responsible for the eleven Israeli athletes' murders. The film was nominated for five Academy Awards including Best Picture.<br /><br />The second part of the movie, which depicts the Israeli government's response, has been debated a great deal by film critics and newspaper columnists. Spielberg refers to the film's second part as "historical fiction", saying it is inspired by the actual Israeli operations which are now known as Operation Wrath of God. The MPAA had rated this movie R for Strong Graphic Violence, Some Sexual Content, Nudity and Language."<br /><br />This is wikipedias overview of the film Munich.<br /><br />http://www.youtube.com./watch?v=NA1CMZALmPc<br /><br />We analysed the first four minutes of this.<br /><br />The music at the beginning sets an eerie atmosphere, making the audience feel tension. Some characters are foreign showing it is dealing with different races and cultures. The characters shown are clearly antagonists as they have guns. It is obviously a thriller as it has lots if dark colours. The antagonists are breaking into Olympic grounds which show that they are angry because of something to do with politics as that is what the Olympics is about. The film starts with them breaking the law by trespassing. The American Jocks are the innocent bystanders in the fact that they could have intentionally got involved in something violent and dangerous.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6697914816853939662.post-45039759327481898422010-01-26T05:20:00.000-08:002010-01-26T06:01:29.176-08:00Our presentation pitchNarractive ideas<br />Our opening sequence will be a chase, there will be people being chased, people running in balaclavas and also people that have been caught and are tied up. It will be a gripping opening as the audience will want to know why people are being chased and who is catching them and why. It will create lots of questions for the audience so therefore creating suspense.<br /><br />Character/Actor ideas<br />There will be two criminals and two victims. One Victim will be running and one already tied up. The criminals are working for someone that has got a grudge against their dad who was a judge that wrongly put them in jail for a five year stretch for an assault. They are back to seek revenge as they were tormented by other prisoners and guards in the prison, making them go crazy. So, they are fighting against the system and higher people in society. This would become obvious as the film progresses. <br /> <br /><br />Kate-Criminal tying up victim<br />Scarlett- Victim being chased<br />Maria-Victim being tied up<br />friend-Criminal chasing Scarlett<br /><br />Location<br />Grand arcade level 6 car park and lift. We can create a scary atmosphere up there. This picture gives a rough example of what the location will look like.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjQx3Xb1MDccxCoY4OJA8pRyozOUHuQjGthy18ySwujsGcddn2Hd2xMg9gyjL8NOdQB5CJFR-n2onOaCLPmUXVryNP2kxrQxj9FAB0YreNGvLrGnYf-x647tjG6iPepCyEtMyfGm9P0LY/s1600-h/car+park"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 135px; height: 137px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjQx3Xb1MDccxCoY4OJA8pRyozOUHuQjGthy18ySwujsGcddn2Hd2xMg9gyjL8NOdQB5CJFR-n2onOaCLPmUXVryNP2kxrQxj9FAB0YreNGvLrGnYf-x647tjG6iPepCyEtMyfGm9P0LY/s400/car+park" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5431047243766173618" /></a><br /><br /><br />Certificate<br />15 as it is a film aimed at older teenagers and adults. There will be an action scene and is all based around the one crime, the kidnapping.<br /><br />Titles<br />We are going to have the titles on freezes of each character. Every time there is a climax, just before we will freeze it for 2/3 seconds and have there name. We are going to have the font in a bright colour such as red so it contrasts with the dark background. We will have the font in a font that looks like it has been written by a type writer. <br /><br />Music/Shot information<br />We will have dramatic music to go with the action and to help set the mood of tension and suspense. We will have a range of shot distances and types. We will have panning shots to show the loctation and some of the action. We will have a tracking shot to put people in the view of the criminal/victim. We will use close ups on the person that is tied up to show there reaction. <br /><br />Intertextuality<br />Our film is slightly based on the thriller film, 'Taken'. With the kidnapping aspect. It is also based around the film 'Sleepers' as the background story of our thriller revolves around the same sort principal in the film as they too are out for revenge due to a horrible experience in prison. <br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijNdNwHYtmmowKIbbAEWHd6F7W2t1kZRHfvrtKkZ57xY3JFLg5PyRNPsYr0DZ60Z92qjE3cyXgoNBU5z-bJKor1wOMITtT2PzMlTpSSneyNYUB0qrTcHx9elOc9lx1GwviFtwXMysBkuU/s1600-h/sleepers"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 96px; height: 132px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijNdNwHYtmmowKIbbAEWHd6F7W2t1kZRHfvrtKkZ57xY3JFLg5PyRNPsYr0DZ60Z92qjE3cyXgoNBU5z-bJKor1wOMITtT2PzMlTpSSneyNYUB0qrTcHx9elOc9lx1GwviFtwXMysBkuU/s400/sleepers" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5431046786638779922" /></a><br /><br /> <br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdyyuTLHYGpggDalTyEtIV8sCFm7YGPuswH8vgByTMeL5cE_1qe-1y9GUfgfn0FmH2Z6iJFtBAl8T2ySCm6QvhGi4pLUPNBcOftiT7ZLGarJuOfMkxBvzAXqIcN8JFA8iGJusQvdosNvg/s1600-h/taken"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 135px; height: 145px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdyyuTLHYGpggDalTyEtIV8sCFm7YGPuswH8vgByTMeL5cE_1qe-1y9GUfgfn0FmH2Z6iJFtBAl8T2ySCm6QvhGi4pLUPNBcOftiT7ZLGarJuOfMkxBvzAXqIcN8JFA8iGJusQvdosNvg/s400/taken" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5431043982566047058" /></a>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6697914816853939662.post-63832154032395628872010-01-22T02:14:00.000-08:002010-02-04T03:22:10.791-08:00Thriller idents<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhj44ZP_v-Wpsa6FQ0ger0vEKMZGii2E75S8XFoUP1Lwpz_4f_GEyrx3F0bULzwxVqzly5ZR2w5SPTDboChDyf9SULlUAzfn61Mt8mpErSVKp-VQnEY8BYp3mufmgx93d-INyDAWEAo-g8/s1600-h/Picture+30.png"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 227px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhj44ZP_v-Wpsa6FQ0ger0vEKMZGii2E75S8XFoUP1Lwpz_4f_GEyrx3F0bULzwxVqzly5ZR2w5SPTDboChDyf9SULlUAzfn61Mt8mpErSVKp-VQnEY8BYp3mufmgx93d-INyDAWEAo-g8/s400/Picture+30.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5429506155003486834" border="0" /></a><br /><br />We choose to have the background as skyscrapers to fit with the convention of a city settings.<br />And used dark colours because it creates a scary atmosphere and is more mysterious perfect for a thriller.<br />The helicopter adds to the crime sub-genre of thriller which we were are using for our filmUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0
